«A Person who was Inseparable from One’s People During One’s Lifetime Will be Inseparable from It After One’s Death as Well,»- Refat Chubarov

On December 4, 2012 the ceremonial evening, timed to the 100th anniversary of birth of the legendary Honored Artiste of Crimean ASSR and Uzbekistan Sabriye Eredzhepova was held in Ukrainian Musical Theatre in Simferopol.

Any songs she performed became national. Devoting all her life and work to her native people Sabriye Eredzhepova left her nationals a heritage – an inexhaustible love to the folk song.

The evening was organized in the framework of the execution of the Decision № 10438 “On the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Sabriye Eredzhepova’s birth”, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on July 5, 2012.

The evening began with the documentary film about Sabriye Eredzhepova where her friends and followers told about her life and her great talent.

The First Vice Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov and Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers of ARC Aziz Abdullaev opened the concert program.

“For Crimean Tatars speaking about Sabriye Eredzhepova is not just a pride, but a wish,”- A.Abdullaev started his speech.

He also noted that Sabriye Eredzhepova is a star of the Crimean Tatar people of the 20th century and is a guide for everyone.

According to Aziz Abdullaev, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine adopted the decision on the deposition of Sabriye Eredzhepova’s remains from Tashkent (Uzbekistan) to her homeland – Bakhchisaray.

In late 19th – early 20th centuries our people, how hard he suffered, gave new persons to the world. These persons were destined to save our people,- the First Vice Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov said. One of them was the legendary Sabriye Eredzhepova.

Refat Chubarov also noted that Sabriye Eredzhepova had very hard destiny – she lived through the hunger of 1921 and repressions of 1930-es, occupation of Crimea by Germans and forced deportation in May 1944.

“A person who was inseparable from one’s people during one’s lifetime will be inseparable from it after one’s death as well,”- Refat Chubarov underscored.

The evening was followed by the concert program that included the performances of artists of Crimean Tatar ensemble “Qirim” who sang Sabriye Eredzhepova’s songs.

We would remind you that on July 5, 2012 the MPs of Ukraine adopted the Decision № 10438 “On the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Sabriye Eredzhepova’s birth”, whose author was the MP of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev.
