Leader of Mejlis’ Working Meetings with Eski Qirim and Kefe Residents

In the eve of the elections to the Ukrainian Parliament the leaders of Mejlis have met with the nationals in the various regions of Crimea.

The Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev, his First Deputy, Head of faction “Qurultay-Rukh” in the VR ARC Refat Chubarov, Deputy Chairman of Mejlis Remzi Ilyasov, Head of Bakhchisaray Regional Mejlis, candidate to the MPs of Ukraine in the elective district #10 Ahtem Chiygoz, members of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and representatives of the United opposition “Batkivschina” held field meetings in various corners of the peninsular. The meetings were held with the active support of the regional and local mejlises.

On October 21, 2012 the Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev met with the nationals, living in Eski Qirim (Stary Krym) and Kefe (Feodosia).

The meeting was also attended by the Head of Feodosia Regional Mejlis Ibraim Murasov, Head of Eski Qirim Town Mejlis Dilyaver Ismailov, as well as the candidate to the MPs of Ukraine in the elective district #6 from the United opposition “Batkivschina” Peter Cherniy.

Mejlis’ Leader Mustafa Jemilev noted that two weeks was left before the Election Day and on October 28, 2012 the citizens of Ukraine to vote for the new composition of the Parliament – the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Speaking with the nationals Mustafa Jemilev once more reminded about the decision, adopted by the delegates of the 4th session of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people of the 5th convocation, relating to the elections of the MPs of Ukraine and consolidated position of Crimean Tatars in the elections on October 28, 2012.

Moreover, Mustafa Jemilev underscored that Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and the United opposition “Batkivschina” signed the joint statement on July 27, 2012 about the joint participation in the elections to the Verkhovna Rada and cooperation in the Verkhovna Rada of the 7th convocation through the candidates, delegated by Mejlis to the voting list of the United opposition.

Addressing the nationals, the Leader of Mejlis called them to show the utmost unity and cohesion and support the candidates to the MPs of Ukraine, nominated in the multiseat electoral district in compliance with the lists of the political force of the United opposition “Batkivschina” and candidates to the MPs of Ukraine in the single-seat electoral districts from “Batkivschina”.

We’d like to note that people are not usually very active in the pre-election meetings and it is the politics that are guilty of this, as well as the current political situation in Ukraine.

Despite the small number of participants, people carry out an active dialogue with the representatives of Mejlis and candidates to the MPs of Ukraine, interested in the program and prospects of the participants of the political process.

One should also note that the main block of issues, irrespective of their place of residence and nationality was mostly the same. People were concerned with the issues of employment, infrastructure, improvement of the elementary conditions of education of their children, increasing of prices for the public services, rise of retirement age, transportation facilities in rural area, as well as the unfair actions of the main laws of the state towards the common citizens.
