Mejlis’ Leader Mustafa Jemilev Visits Tomb of Founding Leader and First President of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Rauf Raif Denktaş

On August 27, 2012, the Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev during his working visit to the TurkishRepublic of Northern Cyprus visited the tomb of the founding leader and first President of the TurkishRepublic of Northern Cyprus Rauf Raif Denktaş.

As reported, the outstanding state and public – political figure Rauf Raif Denktaş passed away on January 13, 2012, aged 88. The state burial ceremony, held on January 17, 2012 in Lefkosia was also attended by Mejlis’ Leader Mustafa Jemilev.

On behalf of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev along with his assistant, Head of the Committee of Crimean International Business Association (CIBA) on Investments and International Trade Rustem Umerov laid flowers to Rauf Denktaş’s tomb.

The first President of the Turkish Republic of Northern CyprusRauf Denktaş was buried in Lefkosia cemetery.

Standing before the tomb Mustafa Jemilev and Rustem Umerov, as well as all the present devoted their pries to the late Rauf Denktaş – the patriot and fighter for the rights of his people.
