Head of Regional Mejlis was Elected and Its Composition was Formed in Alushta Region
On June 30, 2012 the regional conference of Crimean Tatars of Alushta region was held. Its delegates were 45 elected members that represented 7 local mejlises.
In compliance with the “Provision on the local bodies of the national self-governance of the Crimean Tatar people” the regional conference of Crimean Tatars of Alushta region until the election of the Head of the regional Mejlis was chaired by the Head of the Commission on the preparation and organization of the elections of the local mejlises Refat Chubarov and the Secretary of the Commission Zair Smedlyaev.
The Conference was also attended by the Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev and his deputies Remzi Ilyasov and Akhtem Chiygoz, member of Mejlis Fevzi Kubedinov, as well as the delegates of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people of the fifth convocation.
After the approval of the agenda of the Conference and the order of the election of the regional Mejlis the delegates started to the consideration of the election of the Head of Alushta regional Mejlis. The bulletins for the secret ballot included two candidates for the position of the Head of the regional Mejlis – Enver Arpatly and Ernest Seydametov.
After the secret ballot Enver Erpatly was elected the Head of Alushta regional Mejlis by the majority of the delegates.
After that the delegates of the Conference vote for the forming of the composition of Alushta regional Mejlis where 7 representatives of the local mejlises were included, and the Head of Alushta regional Mejlis E.Arpatly proposed additionally Rustem Gafarov and Ziya Seydametov.
In conclusion of their work the delegates of the regional conference discussed the plan of work of the regional Mejlis and supported the proposal of the Head of the regional Mejlis on the necessity to prepare the plan of work on every single local Mejlis and the schedule of the reception of the citizens.
The Leader of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev congratulated the newly elected Head of Alushta regional Mejlis and thanked the participants of the conference for the elections, held in compliance with the “Provision on the local bodies of the national self-governance of the Crimean Tatar people”.
Mejlis’ Leader reminded that the regional Mejlis in Alushta region in fact didn’t function for a long time. In this connection he expressed his hope that the newly elected Head of the regional Mejlis will make his best to make the work of the regional Mejlis constructive. He also recommended the members of the regional Mejlis to work with the nationals more actively, guiding by the decisions of the national institutes of the self-governance – Mejlis and Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people.
We would remind you that the snap elections of four local mejlises of Alushta, Buyuk Lambat, Korbekul and Kuchuk-Uzen region were held on April 28, 2012. The elections, held in 7 electoral districts, formed in 4 electoral regions resulted in election of 32 members of local mejlises of 45 candidates that took part in the elections. The snap elections in the mentioned administrative-territorial districts were organized in compliance with the earlier adopted decision of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people on the early termination of the authority of local mejlises.
Thus, today the local mejlises were elected in all administrative – territorial districts of Alushta region that already have held their first meetings by the moment of calling of the regional conference and that elected the heads and secretaries of local mejlises.
