Lemmar Yunusov Heads Simferopol Regional Mejlis

On May 12, 2012, Saturday the Simferopol Regional Conference of Crimean Tatars was held in Simferopol. In accordance with the “Provision on local bodies of national self-governance of the Crimean Tatar people” the Chairman of the Commission on preparation to the elections of the local mejlises, First Deputy Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov and Secretary of the Commission, Head of the Secretariat of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Zair Smedlyaev chaired the Conference.

227 delegates, representing 34 local mejlises took part in Simferopol Regional Conference

The conference’s agenda included the election of the Head of Simferopol Regional Mejlis and forming of its composition.

The delegates of the Conference adopted the order of the election of the Head of the regional Mejlis. The decision was adopted by the majority of votes to elect the Head of the regional Mejlis only among the members of the local mejlises.

The candidates of Ruslan Ennanov and Lemmar Yunusov were proposed to the position of the Head of the regional Mejlis.

Lemmar Yunusov was elected the Head of Simferopol Regional Mejlis after the secret ballot.

Anafi Jemilev, member of Simferopol Regional Council was additionally included into the composition of Simferopol Regional Mejlis in accordance with Lemmar Yunusov’s suggestion.

In conclusion of the Conference’s work the Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev congratulated personally the newly elected Head of Simferopol Regional Mejlis, wishing him further success in the solution of the problems of the Crimean Tatar people.
