Elections of Members of Local Mejlises of Chernomorsky Region

On April 7, 2012, Saturday the elections of the local mejlises of Chernomorsky region were held on the basis of general, equal and direct suffrage through the secret ballot.

This day at 8 a.m. 16 electoral districts were opened to held the elections of 53 members of 80 candidates to 9 local mejlises of Chernomorsky region.

In some settlements the elections turned into a real holiday with national music performance and the buildings were decorated with Crimean Tatar national flags. In Tabuldy (Medvedevka) settlement the tasty pilau and shashlik were cooked next to the entrance to the electoral district. In Tatar Chagaltay (Dalekoe) settlement there was a concert of an amateur talent group.

According to the results on morning April 8, 2012 all the elections were recognized as valid.

At this, the activity of the electorate comprised from 48% in Chernomorskoe settlement to 95% in Gromovka settlement. The average activity of voters comprised 64%.

The date of the Conference of Crimean Tatars of Chernomorsky region on the election of the Chairman of the regional Mejlis in accordance with the Provision on the local bodies of the national self-governance of the Crimean Tatar people to be set by the decision of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.
