Elvira Akimova was Elected Head of Edi Quyu Regional Mejlis

On March 18, 2012 the Conference of Crimean Tatars of Edi Quyu (Lenin) region was held. The Conference was attended by 103 delegates, representing 24 local mejlises as well as the acting Chairman of the Revision Commission of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people Kurtseyit Abdullaev and the Head of the Secretariat of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Secretary of the Commission on preparation and organization of the elections of local mejlises Zair Smedlyaev.

The Head of the Commission on preparation and organization of the elections of local mejlises, First Vice Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov chaired the Conference.

The agenda of the Conference was as follows:

1. Election of the Head of Edi Quyu regional Mejlis;
2. Members of Edi Quyu regional Mejlis;
3. Situation with the ancient Muslim burials.

The following candidates were proposed to the position of the Head of Edi Quyu regional Mejlis: Nadir Ajaripov, Elvira Akimova and Shevkhi Nafeev. Following the secret ballot Elvira Akimova was elected the Head of Edi Quyu regional Mejlis.

Abdulmedjitov Enver, Abil’vapov Arsen, Apkelyamov Eskender, Ablyazimov Lenur, Bormambetov Ibraim, Ismailov Memet, Mel’gaziev Dilyaver and Imam of the region Memerov Rustem were additionally included into the composition of Edi Quyu regional Mejlis at the suggestion of the new head of the regional Mejlis.

The delegates of the Conference adopted unanimously the address on the third point of the agenda.
