Mustafa Jemilev Met Leonid Kuchma

On January 28, 2012 the Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev met the President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma (1994-2005) in the residence of L. Kuchma Presidential Foundation “Ukraine”.

During the meeting the parties discussed the current social and political situation in Ukraine, in particular in Crimea, the prospects of the development of the country on the eve of the Parliamentary elections.

The parties paid special attention to the initiative of carrying out in Ukraine of the International Forum on the restoration of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people to their homeland, its security and guarantees of development in Ukraine.

In addition Mustafa Jemilev expressed his opinion that the experience of establishment of the mutual understanding and building of the effective relations between the bodies of the national self-governance of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainian authorities, obtained during the presidency of Leonid Kuchma is in special demand today.
