Chairman of Mejlis M.Jemilev Has Met With New Ambassador of Republic of Turkey to Ukraine

On December 8, 2011 the Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP of Ukraine met in Kyiv with new Ambassador of Turkey to Ukraine Mekhmat Samsar.

The parties have discussed the situation in Crimea, the main problems of Crimean Tatars, interrelations between Mejlis and new leadership of the autonomy, as well as the coming official visit of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to Turkey.

In addition, the leader of Mejlis M.Jemilev and Ambassador of Turkey to Ukraine M.Samsar paid attention to the issues that were considered in January this year during the meeting of the Chairman of Mejlis with the Prime Minister of Turkey R.T. Erdogan.

Mustafa Jemilev reminded that during the meeting with the Head of the Turkish Government they discussed the prospects of implementation of earlier considered programs of Turkey’s assistance to the solution of some social problems of Crimean Tatars, including the construction of schools, houses, cultural center and other facilities in Crimea.

The Ambassador of Turkey stated about his intention to visit Crimea as a follow up of the visit of the President of Ukraine V.Yanukovych to Turkey.

The meeting was also attended by the assistants of the Head of Mejlis M.Jemilev Alexey Skorik and Aslan Umerov, as well as the First Secretary of the Embassy of Turkey to Ukraine Berk Ege.
