Public Organization “Yashlar Shurasy” Mobilizes People to Hold Subbotnik (Community Work Day)

This news came from the Head of the project on restoration of the park, the member of the youth organization “Yashlar Shurasy” (Youth Council) Dilyaver Akiev.

“For the last few months the works on restoration of the amusement park are carried in Bijuk-Onlar (Oktyabrskoe) settlement, Krasnogvardeysky region. The initiator of this project was the youth public organization “Yashlar Shurasy”. Oktyabrsky village council accepted the proposal of youth about the joint work in this area. The cooperation agreement was signed between the executive committee of the village council and the youth organization,” – Mr. Akiev said.

After the signing of the Agreement the members of “Yashlar Shurasy” spoke before the residents of the settlement several times, telling about the idea of the restoration of the park. In their turn, the residents supported unanimously the idea and guaranteed their participation in the works. The project on restoration of the park is implemented with the financial support of the US Agency on International Development (USAID) in the framework of the project UNITER (The Ukraine National Initiatives to Enhance Reforms).

One should also note that the village council, local entrepreneurs, as well as the residents themselves also gave their share in financing of this project. According to the Head of this project there are 11.000 people in Biyuk-Onlar settlement. In accordance with the General Plan of this settlement a green area – park of 4 hectares to be located in the center of this settlement. However, no one took care of the park for a long time and finally it turned into a wasteland, garbage and pasture. In spring 2011 the local authorities made an attempt to reconstruct this park. They held the community work day, planted few tens of trees. This attempt was single and didn’t lead to any definite positive results.

The residents of the settlement and the residents of the neighboring villages do not have possibility to walk and rest in the parks. Children have no place to play. There is no playground for kids. The youth have nowhere to play spots. “Thus, “Yashlar Shurasy” set a goal before them to create conditions for resting, health improvement and entertainment in well-settled green park, equipped with sport and playgrounds and many green plants for the residents and guests of Biyuk-Onlar settlement,”- the organizer informed.

According to him, today the work on arrangement of the irrigation system and illumination are done. Already on October 29 the mass community work day and landscape gardening was planed with participation of the local residents and everyone who wishes to take part in creation of a cosy place.
