On Organization of Cengiz Dagci’s Funeral

In accordance with the decision of the Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev the Commission of Mejlis to be established on organization of the funeral of the prominent Crimean Tatar writer Cengiz Dagci, dead on September 22, 2011 in London.

On September 26, 2011 the Commissions held its first meeting that was also attended by Cengiz Dagci’s junior sister – Ayshe hanum, living in Simferopol.

The Chairman of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev informed the members of the Commission about the appeals of Cengiz Dagci’s closest relatives to Mejlis – daughter Arzy, living in London and sister Ayshe, attending the meeting of the Commission.

In pursuance of Cengiz Dagci’s last will and the appeals of his relatives the Commission on organization of Cengiz Dagci’s funeral considered the plan of events on preparation to the funeral and assigned the persons who will be responsible for its execution.

Cengiz Dagci’s funeral to be held on October 2, 2011.

At this, djenaze merasimi (prayer) to be held in Simferopol in Kebir Jami from where the feral order will proceed to the Muslim cemetery of Kyzyltash (Krasnokamenka) village next to Yalta where his body will be buried.

It is expected that Cengiz Dagci’s funeral will be attended by the official figures from Turkey, representatives of a range of international organizations, delegations of Crimean Tatar organizations and creative unions from different countries.
