Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people assures its nationals that all the criminals will suffer a highest possible punishment in compliance with the current legislation of Ukraine.

Statement

On the night of September 2/3, 2011 a 19-years-old Emil Ganiev was killed by the established persons in Rodnikovoe village of Simferopol region.

The criminals also inflicted the knife wounds and injuries to four other our nationals. Vitaly Velilyaev and Asan Useyinov got injuries, constituting a threat to their life. As soon as the Legal Service of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people received the news about the grave crime committed against Emil Ganiev, Vitaly Velilyaev, Asan Useyinov, Seyran Maksutov and Dilyaver Ebidlyaev in the morning on September 3, 2011 it started the detailed fixing and registration of all the circumstances of the crime in order not to let the criminals escape the criminal responsibility and legal punishment.

The lawyers of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people in close cooperation with the relatives and friends, community of Rodnikovoe village, local mejlis and Simferopol local Mejlis are taking all the measures, ensuring the comprehensive and impartial investigation of the circumstances of the crime, committed against the Crimean Tatars.

According to the advocates, two criminal cases were instituted at the moment. One criminal case was instituted under the article 296part 2 “Hooliganism”, the second – under the article 296, part 4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Malicious hooliganism” and article 115, part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Intentional murder”. Two of four participants of the fighting Gevorkyan Karen and Ovakyan Ara were detained and the investigation agencies are choosing the measure of restraint against them now. Arutunyan Agrishti and Arutjunyan Andronik could escape and now they are wanted by the police. In particular, one of them has inflicted the knife injuries caused the death of 19-years-old Emil Ganiev.

Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people expresses its sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of Emil Ganiev and injured Vitaly Velilyaev, Asan Useyinov, Seyran Maksutov and Dilyaver Ebidlyaev and assures its nationals that all the criminals will suffer a highest possible punishment in compliance with the current legislation of Ukraine.
