On August 7, 2011 the regular enlarged meeting of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people was held in Simferopol, attended by the representatives of the heads of regional mejlises and members of the Revision Commission of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the consideration of the fist question \u2013 on the final stage of the elections to local mejlises \u2013 the Head of the Commission on preparation and organization of the elections to local mejlises Refat Chubarov informed that the long-term period of the elections to local mejlises that started back in 2009 comes to its end. As Refat Chubarov noted, the preparation to the elections to local mejlises in Simferopol, Sevastopol, Chernomorskiy and Yalta regions will begin in the nearest time. The elections in these regions will be held in October 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the course of consideration of this issue the Chairman of Mejlis Mustafa Jemilev came up with proposal of impeachment to Alushta Regional Mejlis and reelections of Malorechenskiy local Mejlis. He reasoned this by the fact that Alushta regional Mejlis and Malorechenskiy local Mejlis openly boycotted the decisions of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people and Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people concerning the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea and local councils of ARC that were held on October 31, 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Members of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, supporting this proposition provided evidences, testifying to non-fulfillment of the decisions of Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people by Alushta regional Mejlis and Malorechenskiy local Mejlis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the continuous discussion of the situation in Alushta region the Chairman of Mejlis Mustafa Jemilev put to the vote the decision on impeachment and deprivation of powers of Alushta regional Mejlis and reelections of Malorechenskiy local Mejlis. 23 of 25 members of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people who were present at the meeting vote for the proposal of the Chairman of Mejlis, 2 members of Mejlis abstained from voting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Concerning the second question of the agenda the members of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people adopted the Decision \u201cOn events, dedicated to the European day of remembrance for victims of Stalinism and Nazism to preserve the memory of the victims of mass deportation and exterminations\u201d. According to the Head of the Secretariat of Mejlis Zair Smedlyaev, since 2009 Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people annually organizes the informative meeting in Simferopol, attended by the representatives of various public and political organizations. \u201cThis year on August 23, there will be also the mourning meeting carried out in the framework of the European Day of remembrance for victims of Stalinism and Nazism to preserve the memory of the victims of mass deportation and exterminations near Salgirka Park in Simferopol,\u201d \u2013 Z.Smedlyaev informed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then, according to the agenda of the meeting of Mejlis the information was heard on the course of solution of the questions, related to legalization of the massifs of initiative settlement of Crimean Tatars, read by the Head of the Land Commission of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Zevdzhet Kurtumerov. Due to the absence of the practical steps on solution of the land problem the members of Mejlis ordered the Head of Land Commission of Mejlis to organize the acquaintance and discussion of the general project of Simferopol by the representatives of local mejlises of Simferopol, paying a special attention to proposed changes in resettlement of the formed Crimean Tatar settlements and massifs where the \u201cprotest camps\u201d are located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Proposals of some representatives of the local mejlises and \u201cprotest camps\u201d on the necessity to conduct the actions of protest against delaying of allocation of land plots to Crimean Tatars were taken to consideration, but the final decision was postponed until its additional examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chairman of Reskomnats of ARC Edem Dudakov who was invited to the meeting of Mejlis informed the members of Mejlis about the \u201cProgram of resettlement and social-cultural development of the deported persons for the period till 2015,\u201d he underscored that in 2011 Reskomnats of ARC still haven\u2019t obtained the funds that were assigned by the state budget of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Members of Mejlis also discussed the situation, related to the decision of Pechersky District Court in Kyiv of August 5, 2011 on taking into custody of the Ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine, leader of the political party \u201cBatkivschina\u201d Julia Timoshenko. Members of Mejlis adopted by the majority of votes the draft of \u201cStatement of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people on taking into custody of the Ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Julia Timoshenko, according to which Mejlis calls all political parties and public forces of Ukraine to join their efforts in order to stop persecution on political grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In conclusion of the meeting the members of Mejlis examined the proposal of the member of Pervomaysk regional Mejlis Enver Emirasanov on carrying out of the football championship for the cup of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people. The decision was adopted to order the Deputy Chairman of Mejlis Remzi Ilyasov to head the Working group on the development of the regulations and preparation to this event.
