Biography

• 1983–1990 – archivist, senior archivist, director, senior researcher of the Central State Archive of the October Revolution and Socialist Construction of the Latvian SSR, Riga;
• 1989–1991 – deputy of the Riga City Council;
• 1990–1991 – member of the State Commission on the Problems of the Crimean Tatar People under the Council of Ministers of the USSR;
• 1989–1991 – Deputy Chairman of the Organization of the Crimean Tatar National Movement;
• 1991–1993 – head of the Organization of the Crimean Tatar National Movement;
• 1991–2013 – Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People;
• 1994–1998 – deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea of ​​the 1st convocation;
• 1995–1998 – Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of the ARC, Chairman of the Permanent Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea on National Policy and Problems of Deported Citizens;
